Luo Shuwei, The Profound Historical Culture and Developing Value of Tianjin Binhai New District
 

Abstract: Tianjin Binhai New District locates to the west shore of Bo Sea. Though a new district as it called, it actually develops from an area with long history about 3000 years and rich civilization. The Binhai New District was, economically, once the ocean transportation hub and the largest industrial base producing the salt and, culturally, the source of Mazu Culture in North China. The Binhai District, in modern era, was the cradle of modern ocean chemical industry, and the frontier protecting North China. The rapid development of the Binhai District results from its profound history and culture, its superior location, and its position in the overall development of the economy of Around-Bo Sea-Area. The Binhai District, with a retrospect of its rich history, and a prospect of its bright future, will present the world and brilliant picture with unique and impressive cultural characteristics.
